You can take the family out of the city, but you don’t have to take the city out of the family. Determined to bring their urban sensibilities with them when moving to the suburbs from Boston’s South End, this family of four - plus a new puppy - chose a 2014 classic stone and cedar shingled beauty by Patrick Ahearn as their new home base. Rachel Reider Interiors created a soft modern interior design that complimented the more traditional New England exterior by choosing fixtures, finishes, and furnishings that spoke to their clients’ sophisticated style. Sunbrella fabrics, faux leathers, and washable textiles were used with every day living and family-friendly practicality in mind. A color palette of blues, greens, and purples creates a cohesive interior, with bold hues taking center stage in lively spaces like the family room and more subdued shades in the bedrooms.
