Having purchased a classic New England shingle style home for their busy family with three young children and a puppy, our clients were seeking an interior aesthetic that would reflect their modern design taste. With a goal of creating spaces that would function well for their family and also be suitable for frequent entertaining, Rachel Reider Interiors developed a plan that put the emphasis on luxe materials, soft textures, and elevated finishes against a palette of off-white, shades of gray, and a hint of blue. This neutral scheme proved to be the ideal backdrop for the clients' extensive art collection, allowing each piece to serve as a focal point. A sense of warmth and visual interest were added by layering metallic finishes, honed marble, crackled glass, and soft upholstery throughout. Reworked fireplaces with custom mantels completed the project, ensuring that the newly modern interiors remained in sync with the home's overall architectural shell.
